“Modernizing the Region`s Roads for Future Generations”

The Caribbean region is at a critical point in its development trajectory and will need more and better connectivity infrastructure to fully reap the benefits of economic growth. In addressing the infrastructure deficit, governments across the region have made road development a priority area, undertaking much-needed maintenance work, and safety investments.

Join decision makers from Guyana and the wider region on May 8-10, 2019 to design road strategies that will prepare the Caribbean for 21st century infrastructure & mobility challenges.

Ground transportation will be provided for participants from a few hotels to the ACCC – The Georgetown Marriott, Herdmanston Lodge and the Princess Ramada. The buses will leave on schedule.
For your safety, only use official airport taxi service when travelling from the CJIA to Georgetown.
Taxi is available from all hotels on a 24-hour basis.

Major credit cards (VISA, MASTER CARD) and travellers’ cheques are accepted by most hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, car rental agencies and tour operators. Credit cards with CIRRUS and/or PLUS mark can be used at any Scotia Bank Automated Telling Machines (ATM) in Guyana.

Medical services are of high standards and most international prescription drugs are readily available through retail pharmacies. It is suggested that participants take out personal medical insurance for the duration of the trip. Malaria prophylactics are especially advised.

All visitors to Guyana are required to have a valid passport to enter and depart Guyana. Also, all visitors to Guyana should ensure that their passports have at least six months of remaining validity. Those arriving by air require an onward plane ticket.

All visitors to Guyana require a Visa except nationals of these countries
The maximum duration of stay any visitor will be granted by Guyana Immigration, will not exceed 6 months.

The process period is one (1) week however this varies depending upon the nature of the case. The Visa Application Fee costs US$25.00 for visitors, and is payable upon arrival in Guyana at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport or the Eugene F. Correia International Airport. The fee is payable in cash only.
