Dreznes Named Co-Chairman Of UN Road Safety Collaboration Pillar 2 Project Group
Michael Dreznes, Executive Vice-President of the International Road Federation was named Co-Chairman of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration Pillar 2 ‘Safer Roads and Mobility’ Project Group. Dreznes had been approached by Members of Pillar 2 “Safer Roads and Mobility” Project Group and was asked to accept the nomination to help to lead the Project Group.
The Pillar 2 “Safer Roads and Mobility” Project Group goal is to provide direction and guidance for road authorities to meet the challenge of the Decade of Action to reduce global road fatalities by 2020.
The Pillar 2 “Safer Roads and Mobility” Project Group consists of four Focus Areas:
- Successful integration of road safety into existing systems and policies
- Road safety infrastructure management tool
- ‘How To’ tips for road safety solutions in low and middle income countries
- A model framework for road safety engineering capacity building
The “Safer Road and Mobility” Project Group consists of Members from around the world.
