Webinar Overview
Webinar: Next Generation Traffic Management & Analytics
Delivered in Partnership with Intertraffic
Mobility services are undergoing spectacular changes with the introduction and widespread use of cloud communication and connected vehicle technology. Incremental interventions on the physical and digital road networks are required to allow traffic control systems to cope with mixed vehicular traffic and optimize traffic guidance functions. This webinar will present the current state of the art in responsive and fully adaptive traffic management solutions, as well as opportunities to leverage the vast amounts of data captured by sophisticated traffic management systems to deliver sustainable road mobility.
Marshall Cheek (Trafficware) will provide an overview of modern traffic management system architecture as well as how emerging concepts, including, integrated corridor management, mobility as a service (MaaS) and connected and autonomous vehicles (CV/AV) fit into this modern architecture. He will present several examples from current and upcoming projects on how agencies are implementing these emerging concepts and ways agencies can prepare for their next system. Mr. Cheek will also discuss different methodologies for implementing CV/AV, as well as the benefits of each type of implementation.
Karl Jeanbart (Derq) will provide an overview of how modern computer vision, machine learning and edge-processing techniques can utilize sensor feeds at intersections, road corridors, railway crossings, and pedestrian crosswalks to convert large amounts of sensor data into real-time intelligence and benefit road safety and traffic performance. He will present several examples on how real-time safety and traffic insights provide accurate and granular feedback to generate risk-profiles and traffic performance metrics, allowing road operators and planners to act proactively with short turnarounds. He will also present how the real-time sensor feeds can also be used to predict dangerous situations and subsequently warn the pedestrians, connected and autonomous vehicles, to avoid collisions using V2X and other cutting-edge technologies.
