IRF Delivers Asset Management Program in Saudi Arabia
IRF successfully launched the first in a series of workshops designed for Saudi road sector professions in Riyadh, December 18-21, 2011, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The workshop focused on Transport Asset Management and was designed to bring best-practices and a strategic approach to effective management of physical transport infrastructure to the Kingdom. Attendance exceeded 100 delegates hailing from all regions of Saudi Arabia, including representatives from government agencies, road contractors, consulting and other civil engineering firms.
The International Road Federation wishes to express its profound gratitude to H.E. Abdullah Al-Mogbel, Deputy Minister of Roads, for his invaluable support for this workshop, and to Al-Khodari, for its generous sponsorship.
Future plans for the Saudi Road Professional Series include road safety, pavement management, and performance-based-contracting workshops in the fall and winter of 2012.
