IRF Presents New AASHTO Guidelines at Road Safety Executive Seminar Series
In keeping with its mission of promoting better, safer, and more sustainable roads, and in the spirit of the United Nation’s “Decade of Action for Road Safety”, IRF held a three-day executive seminar in Orlando, Florida on December 6-9, 2011. The event, which drew delegates from 11 countries, featured presentations by the World Bank, Federal Highway Administration and the Texas Transportation Institute.
The seminar focused on ways to implement a cost-effective Road Infrastructure Safety Management System centered around the 2011 AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, a key resource for highway engineers and contractors. The success of the seminar has led IRF to announce it will hold a nine-day executive seminar in December 2012 that will provide highway practitioners with unprecedented exposure to case studies and best in line remedial approaches.
