IRF-Washington announces Second Latin America Regional Conference

The International Road Federation-Washington (IRF-Washington) announced today the second annual Latin America Regional Conference (LARC) will be held August 28-30, 2008 in Lima, Peru. This year’s LARC will be held in conjunction with the 7th Highway Infrastructure International Congress (HIIC) being conducted by the Construction Management Institute (ICG) of Peru.

The theme of this year’s congress is, “Transcontinental Highway in Latin-America – Connecting Capitals…Connecting People”.

These two events will bring together public and private organizations to share best practices and network with road industry experts from around the world. During the congress, attendees will be able to learn about new advances in technologies, hear from practitioners about road infrastructure projects, and gain valuable insights on current research being done by leading experts from the region. Numerous exhibitors will showcase their latest innovations, providing visitors opportunities to learn about a wide range of new products and services.

The IRF-Washington LARC will hold four training and education tracks that will cover subjects under the following four themes:

  • Road Safety
  • Road Financing
  • Road Maintenance
  • Pavement Technologies

More than 1,000 delegates are expected to attend this unique event. The 2nd Annual LARC and 7th HIIC will be an educational forum on pressing and relevant roadway issues for top-level transportation professionals from Latin America.

All Congress activities and sessions will be held in Spanish.
