US Highway Bill Signed Into Law
On July 6, 2012, US President Obama signed a USD $105 billion surface transportation bill into law. The two-year legislation is expected to keep hundreds of thousands of construction workers on the job rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure, and its indirect effects could ripple across the economy.
“After more than 1,000 days of delay, Congress has come together in delivering legislation that will save or create 3 million jobs in the United States” declared IRF President & CEO Pat Sankey. “The projects funded through this law will provide a major boost to the US economy while streamlining Federal approval processes. Our congratulations go to Pete Ruane and the staff at ARTBA for their tireless dedication in keeping reauthorization at the forefront of the public debate”.
