Victor Mendez Accepts Invitation to Keynote IRF Annual Awards Program

(Alexandria, Va.) – The International Road Federation (IRF) announced U.S. FHWA Administrator Victor Mendez has graciously accepted its invitation to keynote the 10th Annual IRF Awards Luncheon on January 25, 2011.
The IRF Annual Awards Luncheon will recognize the 2010 award winners of the Global Road Achievement Awards (GRAA). The IRF GRAA program is a worldwide competition to identify and honor excellence, innovation, and exceptional achievement in 12 vital road and transport sector categories. The program elicits information on successful projects from leading industry organizations, draws attention to the winning projects, and provides examples of best practices and latest technologies.
“IRF established this program in 1990 and has recognized 70 projects from two dozen countries over the past decade,” said Patrick Sankey, CEO, IRF Washington. “This year, IRF is proud to honor 11 outstanding projects and showcase the best the transportation industry has to offer our global society.”
The Annual Awards Luncheon is expected to draw hundreds of high-level government officials, top executives, and other transportation professionals.
