Preserving Our Highway Infrastructure Assets
Senior Executives from 10 different countries attended the 4th Annual International Road Federation “Preserving Our Highway Infrastructure Assets” Executive Seminar in Miami, Florida USA September 11-13, 2012. The main focus of the 3 day seminar was the successful implementation of Transportation Asset Management and learning from different country experiences.
The event also took an in-depth look at some new and existing materials and technologies that can be used to extend and preserve the life of agency’s highway assets.
Some of the key seminar findings were that the successful implementation of Asset Management is largely dependent on an Agency’s long term commitment to Asset Management and a well-trained and skilled staff. It was also discussed that IRF could help promote Asset Management by increasing its offerings of training sessions to various agencies around the world.
